Due to continued growth and evolving operational requirements, SRSL is seeking an energetic and motivated Assistant Accountant to join their Taupō-based Business Services Team, reporting to the Financial Controller.

The Assistant Accountant will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of systems and processes.

As SRSL continues to grow, this position offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to expand your skillset across a broad range of accounting functions.

In this role, the successful candidate will:

  • Assist with month-end processes and financial reporting
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
  • Maintain accurate financial records and data integrity
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Perform reconciliations and support general ledger maintenance
  • Assist with audit preparation and compliance requirements
  • Contribute to system and process improvements
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in accordance with reporting deadlines.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience as an assistant accountant or similar role
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles
  • Experience with financial systems, Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
